About Us

After 34 years of successful trading on Mayfield Road, Brikabrak has relocated to 471 Aylestone Road, near to the junction with Grace Road. Gerry Wells and his late wife Sue started Brikabrak Picture Framing from a small shop at 21 Mayfield Road in 1977.

They quickly outgrew this location and moved to a much bigger property a few doors away at 25 Mayfield Road in 1986. However, because of continuing growth and following feedback from customers concerned about parking, Gerry required a more suitable property with greater accessibility and after a long search secured 471 Aylestone Road.

This location provides easy access to the M1/M69 motorways via Soar Valley Way has proved to be a boon for the many out-of-town customers. It also has plenty of on site parking, which together with disabled access makes stopping off at Brikabrak much less stressful than before.

The new Brikabrak shop opened in July 2011 and since then Gerry, Matthew and Fiona – together with over 60 years of picture framing experience – have been welcoming old and new customers alike. They are happy to advise you on your bespoke framing requirements and continues to offer what is probably the largest range of ready made picture frames and ready cut window mounts in the Midlands, for customers who prefer to frame their own artwork.

A superb range of framed mirrors, oil paintings and greetings cards is also on display. Whether you are spending hundreds of pounds on a larger framing order or 99p on a birthday card, you can be assured of a friendly service.

Our branch at 25 Mayfield Road remains open for custom framing orders. At Mayfield Road we have a comprehensive range of mountboard and moulding samples to help us advise you on your selection. Both branches are able to provide a complete bespoke framing service to suit your needs.

Two shops – the same great service!
